From the cartoon given above , we can observe that there is an old man lying on bed with a board aside carved with Chinese characters“inheritor of red stoneware”. However , an announcemnt paper is in his mind , reading “the inheritor should be made to others”.
The cartoon reflects an interesting and common aspect in our daily life . However , from a deeper perspective , it also reveals the gradual loss of traditional culture in modern society. What exactly contribute to this phenomenon? Possible reasons could be listed as follows : for one thing , quite a few people ,especially youngsters , hold that Chinese traditional culture is out-dated and of little use in modern society , Perhaps , from their perspectives , traditional culture form the distant past can hardly adapt to or keep pace with the ever-changing new world . Moreover , exotic cultures , to some extent , have also posed a great challenge to the traditional culture of China . As we can see , a large body of people have been attracted by foreign cultures which feature diversity , novelty , electronic products or even ways of life abound in our daily life .
However , no one can deny the significance of Chinese traditional culture. It is the crystallization of Chinese wisdom and civilization. An individual or nation showing no respect to the essence of traditional culture cannot be expected to develop and be stronger. Hence , something could and should be done to reverse the inexorable decline in the emphasis of Chinese traditional culture.
