★ undergraduate
n.大学生，大学肄业生
【例】She had an undergraduate degree in psychology.她有心理学的学士学位。
★ nominate
v.提名，任命
【例1】She has been nominated (as candidate) for the presidency.她已被提名为总统（候选人）。
【例2】He is nominated as police chief.他被任命为警察局局长。
【构词】nomin（=name）+-ate（动词后缀）→提名，任命
【同义替换】name, appoint
【派生】nominator n.提名者，任命者 nomination n.任命，提名 nominee n.被提名者 denominate v.给……命名（de-“加强”） denominationn.命名 ignominious a.名声不好的，不光彩的（ig-“不”）
★ transcend
v.超出，超越（经验、知识、能力的范围等）
【例】These issues transcend the limits of language study.这些问题超出了语言研究的范围。
【构词】trans-（前缀，表“超过”）+scend（=climb爬、攀）→超越
